We build Thoughtful landscapes for living well with nature. Let’s collaborate.
Our story
Our small, two-person team began when we met in landscape design school. We became fast friends and realized we have a very similar work style, aesthetic, and ethos. When we talk about the work we do, we both say how much fun we’re having. We feel really lucky to have found this joy in our jobs. We’ve also been incredibly lucky to have so many outstanding mentors along the way—guiding us, supporting us, and warmly welcoming us into this field. So, let’s bring your vision to life.
We’re ready when you are!

I am a plant person with a deep love for Portland and a passion for bringing people and nature closer together. I became a landscape designer because I know that we can make our urban landscapes more beautiful and more sustainable for humans and other creatures by reintroducing diverse plants and natural systems into our backyards, while creating inviting spaces for people to enjoy.
While my wonder for natural systems is lifelong, my passion for gardening and design grew in 2018 when my spouse and I transformed the back of our NE Portland plot from a very dull, weed-invested flagstone patio into our backyard retreat. Since then, I’ve earned a Landscape Design degree from Portland Community College, collaborated with Pride + Joy Lanscapes as a designer and garden consultant, and teamed up with Amy to start Portland Garden Design. I’m having a blast.
When I’m not doing those things, I love reading the Xera Nursery plant catalog (seriously - check it out!), building whacky things with my husband, and riding my bike around our beautiful city.

Plants have always been at the center of my life. My dad used to walk me around and quiz me on the names of plants. This is still my favorite thing to do (even on solo walks).
I’ve always seen myself as a bit of a collector—of skills, experiences, and creative interests. I believe we’re all the sum of our parts, and the work we do is shaped by everything we’ve picked up along the way. I have a background in floral design, I’ve grown food and flowers, and now I shape gardens. I’m passionate about creating outdoor spaces that feel good to be in. The beauty that surrounds us helps influence our joy, and I hope to help you create that feeling in your own backyard.
